Atificial Intelligence and God’s Hands
Everyone reacts to artificial intelligence differently. Some people respect it, some don’t care much, some use AI applications responsibly, some use it less responsibly, and others feel afraid. There are also those who simply say, “It’s all in God’s hands.”
When people say this, it can sound sincere, showing respect for God as our powerful Father. But sometimes it becomes an excuse to avoid our responsibilities as His children, His representatives, and Ambassadors for Christ on earth. This can keep us from doing what God wants and from honoring Him, which is a tragedy.
Where Are God’s Hands?
Remember that the Church is the body of Christ (Ephesians 1:22-23), and hands are part of a body. When we talk about “the hands of God,” bear in mind that we are the body. God works on earth through His people.
The Bible makes this clear. In Jeremiah 51:20, God calls His people an instrument in His hand, used to accomplish His purposes. The Apostle Paul is even more direct in Romans 6:13, urging believers to offer themselves, their whole selves, hands included, to God as instruments of righteousness. In Psalm 144:1, David praises God for training his hands, and God does the same for us. This is not about waiting and doing nothing. God gives us strength, and we trust Him to teach us what to do. It’s about being present and ready to act.
Our Confidence Is In Christ
So where does our confidence come from, if not from knowing what AI can or cannot do? It comes from knowing we are part of Christ’s body. Ephesians 1:21-23 and Colossians 1:18 both say that Jesus is in charge of everything and He leads the Church. He guides, helps, and teaches us to do what Father desires of us.
Psalm 145:13 and Daniel 4:3 tell us that God’s Kingdom lasts forever, just as He does. His authority has always been the same since the beginning of time. Technology has changed and evolved, and will continue to change, with some becoming outdated and being replaced.
The Psalmist wrote in Psalm 90:2, “Before the mountains were brought forth, or ever thou hadst formed the earth and the world, even from everlasting to everlasting, thou art God.”
And this is what God says about Himself in Malachi 3:6: “For I am the Lord, I change not.”
Also, Isaiah 45:5-6: “I am the Lord, and there is none else, there is no God beside me: I girded thee, though thou hast not known me: That they may know from the rising of the sun, and from the west, that there is none beside me. I am the Lord, and there is none else.”
God is never outdated and cannot be replaced. Luke 1:33 promises that His Kingdom will never end. This truth gives us confidence that He will never leave us.
When we understand this, the words “it’s all in God’s hands” become much more powerful. They are not a reason to give up or step aside. Instead, they remind us to lead with the authority He has given us and to do what our Father asks, just as Jesus did.
God Has No Competitor
Hands down, Artificial intelligence cannot compare to God’s hands. You are part of His body on earth. Each of us has a role, whether as hands, feet, eyes, or mouth. Whatever God wants to do on earth, He does it through His people. Keep this in mind if any technology ever feels scary or overwhelming. The technology of the God of heaven and earth never changes because it’s perfect.
If AI is used for evil, remember: Do not fear evil. Fear is one of the devil’s strongest weapons against us. But we do not let fear in, as we are safely “hidden with Christ in God” Colossians 3:3. In His presence, there is no fear, only complete joy.
